Scope of Virtual Outpatient Care
Telemedicine is a powerful tool for outpatient triage, follow-up, and chronic condition management, but has inherent technological boundaries. Review what can and cannot be evaluated virtually:

- • General outpatient illnesses (colds, coughs, flu, mild fever)
- • Dermatology & skin rash evaluations (visual inspection)
- • Chronic condition check-ins (hypertension, diabetes monitoring)
- • Pediatric general advice & parenting guidance
- • Interpretation of lab results & hospital follow-up
- • Referral recommendations to specialist clinics
Requires In-Person Hospital Visit
- • Conditions requiring physical palpation or internal examination
- • Suspected bone fractures, severe sprains, acute injuries
- • Urgent surgical emergencies & acute abdominal pain
- • Controlled substances & scheduled narcotic prescriptions
- • Patients with severely compromised vital signs
Telemedicine Informed Consent
By initiating a consultation on Welly, you provide informed consent for remote medical assessment and confirm your understanding of the following:
1. Technical Dependencies:Video consultations rely on telecommunications infrastructure. Audio-visual quality can occasionally be impacted by network bandwidth or device limitations.
2. Clinical Judgement:Your physician reserves the right to terminate a remote consultation and instruct you to visit an emergency department or physical clinic if they determine a video session cannot adequately establish safety.
3. Full Disclosure:You agree to disclose all relevant medical history, past surgeries, known drug allergies, and current medications to the best of your knowledge.
4. Prescribing Safeguards:Antibiotics and other prescription-only medications are dispensed strictly when clinically warranted in compliance with ZAMRA regulations. Telemedicine is not a prescription vending platform.
